Launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2010, Apis on-line training is the future of mobile technology training. You can now enjoy the full benefits of Apis’ interactive and engaging classroom methodology, whilst conducting the training on your own terms; in any location and at any time.
How does it work?
As a participant of our on-line training, you receive a comprehensive course documentation kit together your user id and password. You then log in to our learning portal, where you have access to the courses, course tests and the forums where you can post administrative or technical questions to the course responsible.
Apis’ on-line training is delivered as a series of videos. The videos are recorded in our custom built TV studio and a typical course- equal to 3 days in the classroom - has a total duration of 10 hours divided into 45 minute modules. In the learning portal, you select a module and start viewing the video. You can at any time pause/play or rewind/fast forward the video and you can of course exit the video to reenter at a later stage. We recommend that you complete one module a day, but the system gives you complete flexibility to study at your own pace.
Our on-line videos are essentially capturing our classroom experience on video. The structure and methodology of all training is therefore identical to the engaging and interactive methodology that we use in our classroom training. When you attend our on-line training, you complete the course documentation interactively with the instruction, just like in the classroom.
Each video module is followed by a knowledge test, where we ensure that you have understood the content before the next module becomes available to you. During your study period, you can at any time view previous modules if you want to refresh knowledge in a particular area. At anytime during your study, you can post technical or administrative questions or queries to our forums. We monitor these forums and will respond quickly.
When all knowledge tests have been successfully completed, Apis provides the participant with a course certificate, and issue course statistics to the learning administrators if required. All aspects of our on-line training have been developed to make the training highly accessible, flexible and easy to use.
Technical Requirements
The videos are distributed using dynamic streaming. This state-of-the-art technology monitors the bandwidth between the participant and our streaming server, and selects real-time the best possible video quality. All our videos are recorded in HD format with MP4 compression which enables our participant to enjoy web HD quality provided their connection has a capacity of 300 kbps or higher. Apis is providing the video streaming in partnership with Akamai, to ensure that you get maximum video quality on a global basis.
The learning portal is designed for Internet Explorer browsers and requires a Flash Player version 10 or later (available as free download from www.adobe.com).

Is this e-learning?
No. Our on-line training is essentially great classroom training distributed through video over the internet. It has nothing in common with traditional e-learning which tends to lack pedagogical qualities, and is based on computer animations of varying quality. However, it provides the same benefits when it comes to giving the customer the ability to do the training anywhere and anytime.
The On-Line Methodology
People differ in the way they learn best; some by listening to speech, others through visual graphics and some by writing. By combining these natural approaches to learning, the Apis methodology meets the needs of each candidate in a way that suits them best and the result is a highly effective learning experience.
Our proprietary teaching methodology has been developed to maximise knowledge acquisition and retention, and is based on the following three aspects:
1. Expert course developers research the relevant specifications and summarise the information in the form of a series of tutorials. This course content is then graphically repre¬sented in a mind mapping type format to make complex technical relationships easier to understand and remember.
2. All Apis trainers have masters-level academic qualifications and relevant industrial experience. They all attend a five month certification program to ensure that they deliver our courses to the required standard. They deliver the training also on-line and will address your questions or queries through our on-line forums.
3. The Apis teaching method is highly engaging. The course material FoldOuts® are completed by the student step by step and chapter by chapter, under leadership of the instructor in the classroom, and in the on-line training.
